Planters International Berhad Go Ahead RM100mil 10-years IoT Capable Satellite Development for Forest Conservation Efforts

Kuala Lumpur - December 7th, 2023 - Planters International Berhad reached a pivotal milestone today at the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA), marking an unprecedented leap forward in their relentless dedication to forest conservation. A significant stride was made with the official signing of a project development contract between Planters International Berhad and SpaceIn Sdn Bhd, signalling the initiation of a revolutionary IoT Capable Satellite Development Program aimed at enhancing their conservation endeavours.

The agreement solidified at the SPACEANT-D Showcase Hi-Tea sets the stage for the launch of an IoT-capable satellite scheduled for Q4 2024. This landmark collaboration is a key component of Planters' ambitious 10-year space program focused on bolstering forest conservation efforts, an endeavour projected at a staggering cost of MYR 100 million.
